Tim and Kim (the cute couple) asked me about Tuesday's picture. Were the squats low enough? In a judges setting would they be given credit?
The answer is -- you don't know the whole story. Both of them had squats that were clearly low enough with the crease of the hip well and clearly below the knee. It just so happens that that picture was one in a series where they were both rising and just so happened to be 1) in the exact same position and 2) right in the grey area for depth. We tell you guys to make it BLATENTLY OBVIOUS that you've met the standand so there is no need to make this judgement call.
I hope you guys looked at that picture and wondered "is it low enough?" and really struggled and scrutinized in order to come to a conclusion. Now realize that in judging you have a split second to make the call. It is critical that you make it OBVIOUS. Every.single.rep.
