What if there was one crappy thing you could simply "cut" from your life. Like that telemarketer call- if only we could have an alert that flashed "don't answer this call it'll just waste your time". Yeah, I'd cut that phone call.
If only it were that easy. Cutting the crap (version 4.0) requires much more of a committment. You have to plan. Read food labels. foam roll. COOK!.
There's a really great article called 7 Reasons Doing a Challenge Makes My Life Better and it's about a challenge called the Whole life Challenge that ours is loosely based off of. I really liked the idea that a nutrition challenge encompasses things like workouts and mobility. They go hand-in-hand in our CrossFit lifestyle.
Click the link to read it, and then consider joining Cut The Crap 4.0 (or CTC4) for short. The facebook group is growing and if you want to play you should join us there. The poster on the Community bulletin board in the gym explains the month long challenge. We start on Monday, October 1st.
- I like myself on a challenge. When I hold myself to a high standard, I like the person I become. It’s my most honest and hard-working self. I don’t want to let myself down and I don’t want to let my community down. There is something about a sincere commitment that brings out the best in us, even when it’s hard. Hard is okay. Being successful is about giving our all despite the fact that it’s hard and even when we’re not entirely perfect. It’s how we really win a challenge.
We don’t often get opportunities to shine and be our best selves, but a challenge can be that opportunity.
