I’m too excited to sleep
You know that feeling – when something big is coming up and you know you need to sleep but for some reason – you’re excited, nervous, whatever, and you just can’t seem to manage it? The stress of needing to sleep makes it seemingly impossible to actually achieve it.
Well, here’s your stress inducer:
The Opens are coming.
In 7 weeks, 18.1 will be announced. We’ve spent the fall and early winter getting strong. Now it’s time to get ready.
We know the CFOpens is about moderate to high rep, body weight or light load. Box jumps, chest to bar pull-ups, double unders. All things that are easier if you’re leaner. You are not going to be asked to Zercher 350 in the opens. You will have to burpee.
The best thing you can do now is get your diet in order. Shed the extra 10-15 pounds of Christmas cookies you’re carrying around (I know, they WERE delicious.) Discipline in the kitchen now is going to pay off in the Opens in 7 weeks.
If nothing else, cut the crap. Ditch the soda and the sugar and the processed junk. Start eating only real foods you cook. Yep, that means you have to shop and cook. And that takes time. And effort. And I know it’s hard.
There are short cuts – things like Insta-pots or NW Fit Meals. Some people succeed by spending a weekend day meal prepping everything they’ll need for the week.
A while ago, I wrote a short description of most of the popular eating plans, you can find it here.
In the next week, I’ll be asking around to see if anyone needs some help. I’ll be doing keto – I know of a few others who will be too. If you’d like to get linked up with us, I’m happy to make the connection. If we have people interested in other methods, I’d like to know who’s focusing on what so we can support each other.
After all, the Opens are coming and we’re going to need a little help from our friends.
